How the Process of Apostille Works in Florida
Each state designates a Competent Authority who issues an apostille for a public document.
The Florida Secretary of State is the Competent Authority in Florida.
Only the Competent Authority can issue an apostille.
The apostille certifies the authenticity of the issuing official or notary public’s signature.
Apostilles for the State of Florida are only issued at 2661 Executive Center Cir., Tallahassee, FL 32301 by the Division of Corporations.
It takes approximately 3-5 business days to process an apostilled document. And the state office does NOT offer expedited services.
This is where FL ADOPTION COURIER SERVICES steps in. The state office does, however, offer walk-in requests only taken at the state office and most requests are completed as I wait! Sometimes I must leave them and come back later, but same day service is almost guaranteed. If it is a packet with more than 10 documents, next day service is guaranteed.

How FL Adoption Courier Services Expedites The Process
As soon as the Department of State has stamped and sealed your documents, we send the completed documents, along with your receipts, back to you if you have sent along a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope).
OR if you wish, your documents may be forwarded to your agency in the states or abroad, please include a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) with the proper postage and envelope for whatever service you have chosen and the address.
Your adoption documents will be apostilled and sent in the mail on the same day!

STATE & FL ADOPTION COURIER SERVICES FEES
Please be sure to sign the "waiver of signature" on your package if you send your documents to me via ExpressMail. Fed Ex leaves packages on my front porch away from the street and I am in and out of my home most of the day. And you should always tell me the approximate time of arrival of the package. FedEx overnight has been a wonderful service. This is not necessary with UPS or FedEx, but please do NOT REQUIRE a signature. Do not bother sending your package any faster than Priority Overnight.
Please email us with your tracking number when you send your documents so we'll know to look for them.
Fees:
1. A check made out to Annie Nycz for $150. I also use PayPal and Venmo and Zelle.
2. A personal check, business check, cashier's check or money order made out to "U.S. Department of State" for $10 per document, an additional $10 per document is required for notarization unless you get the documents notarized yourself. (Two separate checks if more than 15 documents.) We will fill out the submission sheet for the US DoS since we are the persons requesting the apostille. Please do not include a DS-4194.
3. Please include a prepaid, self-addressed FedEx/UPS/ExpressMail (whichever you prefer) envelope for us to send you back your documents. If you choose to send FedEx or UPS, please get an account number. They are free and will save you money. Go to fedex.com, ups.com, or usps.com to create your labels. Do not give us a Priority Mail label to send out your completed documents unless you have created the return mailing label online at usps.com. We will not send back anything not trackable. This is for your protection as well as ours.
4. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for us to send you back your receipts if your documents are being forwarded by us to your agency
5. Also, please include a note with phone numbers where I can reach you if there are any problems. Please include the name, contact name, and the phone number of your Adoption Agency. If for some reason, I can't reach you, I can usually reach them.
